Mackenzie Hill

Her story

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Mackenzie’s story is one of resilience, passion, and unyielding creativity. After being removed from an abusive household, she was lovingly raised by her grandmother in Litchfield Park. It was her grandmother’s unwavering love and guidance that shaped Mackenzie into the woman she is today, instilling in her a deep sense of compassion, strength, and determination.

In 2017, Mackenzie pursued a degree in theater and creative writing, but life’s demands led her to leave college to care for her grandmother full-time, a testament to her dedication to family. During this time, she reconnected with her biological father after a six-year search through Ancestry DNA. Though their time together was tragically brief—he passed away from lung cancer during COVID—his encouragement to follow her dreams became a profound source of inspiration.

Her father’s memory and the relationship they were denied became the heart of Mackenzie’s Ivory Fawn series. This deeply personal work reflects her longing for the bond they could have shared, the solace of hearing a father’s words in dark times, and the painful journey of finding closure for wounds left by his passing. Through her writing, Mackenzie poured her grief, love, and healing into the series, transforming her pain into a story that not only helped her heal but also became a beacon of hope for others.

Mackenzie dreams that her stories will provide the same escape and solace for readers that they gave her. She hopes her books will become a sanctuary for those navigating their own challenges, offering them a safe space to heal, dream, and find strength through her characters and worlds.
